AI Revolutionizing Hiring: An Interview with Siadhal Magos, CEO of Metaview
Vertex Holdings15 Jul 2024The Problem with Traditional Hiring
According to a report by Glassdoor, the average hiring process in the U.S. takes about 23.8 days. In the tech industry, this can be even longer due to the specialized skills required. Inefficient hiring processes can lead to significant costs, both in terms of time and money. For instance, a study by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) found that the average cost-per-hire is around $4,129.
"There's an inordinate amount of time and energy that goes into trying to hire people," Siadhal begins. "It's incredibly impactful to whether your company is going to succeed or not if you do that well. But most of the time, people waste time and do it badly."
From a hiring manager's perspective, Siadhal explains, the process of hiring has traditionally been synonymous with interviewing. "Interviews were where hiring happened. That was where we sort of got to know the candidate. That's where I would go and ask my colleagues what they thought based on how they interviewed them. So interviews were hiring as far as I was concerned."
However, despite the centrality of interviews in the hiring process, they remain the least enabled part of it. "There's a lot of things to help you with sourcing, there's a lot of things to help you with understanding compensation. But actually, the assessment through these conversations was almost completely untouched."
Leveraging AI: Metaview's answer to better interviews
Metaview aims to address this gap by leveraging technology to capture and analyze interview data. "You can sort of start to think of those conversations we have with candidates as tidal waves of unstructured data that we've historically lost to the ether," Siadhal explains. "One, we're now having a lot of those conversations within arm's reach of a microphone and a camera. So we can capture that. It doesn't have to be lost. We don't have to rely on our memories anymore."
But capturing the data is just the first step. The real magic happens when this data is analyzed at scale. "We can actually make sense of that data at scale. The humans don't need to be responsible for capturing the insights from those conversations. Actually, well-tuned AI is remarkably good at that."
By combining the ability to capture interview data with advanced AI analytics, Metaview is creating a new platform for how hiring gets done. "There's this opportunity to really create a new platform for how hiring gets done and to build that system of action for where people go when they want to hire someone, because that's where all the data is."
The Future of Hiring
The implications of Metaview's technology are profound. By transforming interviews from a subjective, memory-reliant process into a data-driven, objective one, companies can make better hiring decisions faster. This not only saves time and resources but also increases the likelihood of hiring the right candidate.
Moreover, the data captured and analyzed by Metaview can provide valuable insights into the hiring process itself. Companies can identify patterns and trends, understand what works and what doesn't, and continuously improve their hiring strategies.
According to a survey by CareerBuilder, 78% of job seekers say the overall candidate experience they receive is an indicator of how a company values its people. A streamlined, efficient hiring process not only attracts top talent but also enhances the employer brand.
In a world where talent is the most valuable asset, Metaview is providing companies with the tools they need to succeed. As Siadhal Magos puts it, "We're building the system of action for where people go when they want to hire someone, because that's where all the data is."
