Match Made: Why enterprise finance teams don't trust their own numbers
Vertex Holdings10 Jul 2026Match Made is building the infrastructure layer that reconciles financial data across disconnected systems, one exception at a time.
Enterprise finance teams across Southeast Asia are still reconciling data by hand across dozens of disconnected systems. A large retail chain can process millions of transactions monthly across platforms like Shopee, Stripe, and Grab, each with its own data format. The formatting differences force finance staff into hours of manual spreadsheet work every month-end close, and errors along the way lead to revenue leakage and delayed closing periods. Many finance teams have stopped trusting their own numbers.
Existing tools have not closed this gap. Traditional ERP systems lack native data operations. Reconciliation platforms such as BlackLine require clean data and expensive consultants to configure. Data pipelines like Fivetran demand dedicated technical teams to maintain. The result is a fragmented software stack that leaves finance teams doing the reconciliation work manually regardless of what they have already bought.
Match Made was founded by Tedo Ziraga after a hiring process surfaced the problem. While interviewing 74 candidates for a finance role, he heard the same complaint repeatedly: manual data reconciliation was a severe bottleneck that routinely broke month-end close cycles. That pattern became the founding thesis for the company.
Match Made's rule-based engine ingests raw data from more than 10,000 pre-built sources spanning banks, payment gateways, and marketplaces. It matches records across systems and flags exceptions for non-technical finance users to resolve, deploying in under two weeks. The company operates on a tiered enterprise SaaS model, with subscriptions priced by transaction volume, data sources, and use case complexity.
The traction reflects the gap it is closing. Match Made reached US$1 million in annual recurring revenue in under two years, with an 88% gross margin. Revenue grew 3.3x year over year, alongside 99% cohort retention and 120% net revenue retention. Enterprise clients now include Pizza Hut and Wingstop, across Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Vertex's perspective
Match Made is currently raising a Series A round, targeting an early Q4 2026 close to fund expansion into Japan and Korea. As more enterprises move month-end close out of spreadsheets, Match Made's exception-led model positions it as the infrastructure layer finance teams can build that trust on.
